TO ACCUSE THE ENEMY OF THE OUTRAGE AND EVILS THAT ONE COMMITS IS A CLEUASM LIKE THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN MAGDERBURG

CLEUASM IN A CLIMATERIC YEAR

Cleuasmus is a rhetorical figure, a literary trope, which is synonymous with sarcasm. It consists of accusing another of the evils, outrages and crimes committed by oneself. The Talmud turns it into a political formula or weapon of war (the end justifies the means) to defeat the enemy. Machiavelli also recommends it. It seems to me an irony (/the Spanish would call it a joke) to report that the Saudi doctor who committed the murders in Magdeburg by driving his car into a crowd that was drinking shots of mulled wine according to German tradition and buying gifts in the light of the kermeses was an Islamophobe, an admirer of Hitler and the extreme right, an apostate of the Koran. Ugh.

That doesn't fit in my head. Some newspapers translate cleuasmo as chaquilla, this is turning the arguments on its head. In such unpleasant times as those we are living, while the devil always returns at Christmas or for some important Christian holiday, I think that the vile attack has to do with what is happening in the Middle East and in Ukraine. Natanyahu used the formula when Hamas carried out that massacre of Israelis who were partying and took hostages. Cleuasmo is the overthrow of Assad the Syrian and Zelensky is the living image of perpetual cleuasmo. For the Anglo-Saxons, cleuasmo is a method to win even if it means resorting to the atomic bomb. Hiroshima. All for victory, killing civilians, beheading innocents, and that is what the Big-Eared President of a terrorist state is doing. He drives wedges between Sunnis and Shiites to give them a hard time, divide and conquer. The last two world wars began with a murder in Sarajevo and a rhetorical figure, cleuasmo equals sarcasm. Laughter all around. Desolation. We are on the eve of a climacteric year, meaning that everything is going to change, there will be twelve critical months that await us. Let us trust in God.
